Privacy at a glance
PaliCAD’s modeling tools work offline, without an account or tracking. Your designs are processed on your device, and the app doesn’t automatically send us your files or usage data.
Cloud storage you choose, external websites, and information you choose to email the developer are explained below.
Scope
PaliCAD is a CAD application developed by Brayden Nilsen. This policy covers the PaliCAD application, including its Pali Ijo geometry kernel. It does not cover websites or independent services you choose to open from the app.
PaliCAD works without an account. CAD modeling and file conversion take place on your device. The app does not contain advertising, advertising identifiers, analytics services, tracking technologies, or an automatic upload service for projects or diagnostics. We do not sell or rent personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Your documents and images
PaliCAD reads files you choose through the system file picker and processes models, sketches, dimensions, object names, colors, saved views, and reference images to provide its CAD tools. Saved PaliCAD projects contain the document content, including embedded reference-image bytes and document identifiers. Imported image bytes may retain metadata from the original file; remove sensitive metadata before importing or sharing an image if needed.
Saving and exporting writes to the location you choose. When autosave is enabled, the app saves changes to an already-saved document at its current location. Unsaved new documents are not automatically uploaded or saved to a developer server. PaliCAD does not send your documents or imported images to us.
Settings, recent documents, and temporary data
The app stores preferences and recent-document paths on your device so it can restore settings and help you reopen your work. Preferences include display and input settings, shortcuts, colors, and autosave options. Paths may contain file names or folder names that identify you or your projects. Document identifiers distinguish objects and are not used to track you across apps or websites.
Undo history, previews, geometry caches, and diagnostic breadcrumbs are held in memory while the app is running. File picking and importing may create temporary copies in the app’s local cache. These copies are not sent to us.
Files, cloud providers, and device permissions
You control which documents the app opens and where it saves or exports them. On iPad, the app uses the Files document picker, including any iCloud Drive or other file providers you have enabled. If you choose a cloud-backed location, that provider may upload, sync, retain, or share the file under its own settings and privacy policy. Device backups may also include app data depending on your operating-system settings. This is separate from PaliCAD running its CAD operations on your device.
PaliCAD does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, camera, or entire photo library. Reference images are selected as files. When you choose Copy in an error dialog, the app places the displayed diagnostic text on the system clipboard; your operating system may sync clipboard content according to your settings. PaliCAD does not automatically read your clipboard or transmit its contents.
Diagnostics and correspondence
The app can display operation errors and keep a limited in-memory record of recent geometry operations. Debugging builds or explicitly enabled diagnostic logging may also write local logs or operation snapshots. Diagnostics can contain error messages, file paths, object identifiers, operation parameters, geometry summaries, and, in a saved reproduction you choose to provide, model content. There is no automatic diagnostic-upload service in PaliCAD.
Error details include an optional Email developer control. That control opens a message draft in your device’s email app addressed to support@palicad.com. PaliCAD does not send the message, attach your CAD document, or require you to contact us to keep using the app. You can edit, delete text from, or cancel the draft. If you send it, we receive the address you send from, the message, and any attachments you add. We use that information to handle your correspondence, review reported issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. Send only information you are comfortable sharing; do not include confidential models unless you intend to share them. Your email provider and our email provider process the message under their own terms. Apple may separately process App Store and device diagnostic information under Apple’s policies and your device’s privacy settings.
External links and optional financial support
Links to the guide, developer website, source hosting, social pages, and optional financial-support services open outside PaliCAD. Visiting them causes your browser or another app to connect to that service, which may receive your IP address, browser information, cookies, and information you provide there. Their privacy policies govern that activity. Opening a link does not attach your CAD document.
PaliCAD does not process payment-card details or require a contribution to use its CAD features. If you choose to make a contribution through an external service, that service processes the transaction and may provide the recipient with the transaction and contact information you choose to share.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Saved documents remain in their chosen locations until you delete them. You can delete project, export, and image files through Files or your file manager. Disable autosave in Settings if you do not want automatic updates to the current saved file. Clear the recent-document list using the Open menu’s Clear recent command; clearing that list does not delete your documents.
Closing the app releases its in-memory working data. Deleting the app on iPad removes its local app-container data, subject to Apple’s backup and restore behavior; offloading the app can retain documents and data. Files exported elsewhere, cloud copies, shared copies, and backups must be deleted separately through the relevant provider or recipient. We cannot remotely delete files that stay on your device or in your chosen storage.
We retain email correspondence and voluntarily supplied reports only as needed to address the request, investigate related defects, or meet applicable legal obligations. You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information you have sent us, or withdraw permission for further optional use, using the privacy contact below. Any retention needed to meet a legal obligation will be explained in response. You do not need to share diagnostic files or contact information to use the app.
Security and children’s privacy
Local files and app preferences rely on your device’s access controls and the security of any storage provider you select. Protect your device and review the contents of files before sharing them. PaliCAD does not add its own encryption to project files. No storage or communication method is guaranteed completely secure.
PaliCAD does not seek children’s personal information or require personal details to use its modeling tools. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us so we can address it and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the app’s data practices change and show the revised date. The app includes an offline copy for its installed version. A future feature that collects or shares additional data will need appropriate disclosure and consent where required; this policy does not authorize undisclosed collection.
